Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Task Force Gala in Miami. I got an invite via email, and it was one of those moments where I couldn’t say no. I’ve had a strong relationship with the Task Force team for the past three years, and being at the gala felt like a great way to celebrate that connection and continue building on the work we’ve done together.

There’s something special about any chance to put on a suit, show up for the community, and celebrate the wins we’ve achieved together.

Plus, it’s always a little amusing to be mistaken for a straight ally at these events!

It's a reminder of how diverse and complex our community is, with people from all walks of life coming together to support one another.

Usually, going solo to events like this makes me a bit nervous, but this time was different. I felt a real sense of comfort and belonging, and it ended up being a fantastic night. I even got the chance to sit down and share a meal with the incredible Kimberley Locke and Frenchie Davis! Their stories, energy, and passion for uplifting our community made the evening even more inspiring.

After the event, it was a quick turnaround to catch an early flight. But I left the gala feeling energized, proud, and grateful for this experience. It was the perfect way to pregame for the Liberty Championship!

Can’t wait to see what else we’ll accomplish alongside the Task Force in the coming years.

Until next time,

E.C.
